Need help with ID. Sorry I cant get a picture of this guy. I got up early for work today before the sun came up. I went into the living room, (completely dark), and switched on the overhead light and looked into my tank. I saw my Emerald crab right up by the glass. He wasnt alone. He had this thing buzzing around him. It went back and forth across the tank and the went around behind a big rock and dissapeared. If you have ever seen a water beetle in a freshwater creek, it resembled that. It moved so fast I couldnt get a good look. About 2 months ago I got some new liverock from the Keys. I havnt ever heard of any hitchiker like this.

sounds like an isopod. If it is, it is easy to catch. Put a bottle with hole just big enough for it to go in in the lid. Put some meaty bait inside and put it in the tank at lights out. just watch it for a while and pull it out if it goes inside.

Definetly not a shrimp. Small, looked like a fast moving raisin. I havent been looking at my tank at night lately, so maybe I should. I am going to see if I can hunt this guy down tonite, if I can grab him I will post a pic.

Isopod it is. The good thing is I dont have any fish in my tank. I guess thats why it was harrassing my emerald crab. I dont like the idea of going out and buying a Yellow Tang to use for bait. I was going to get some fish in about 3 weeks. I have to get this guy or guys out first, any ideas?

Well I tried the bottle trick. I put a sea scallop inside. I watched it for about a half an hour, then I had to go to bed. I got up this morning @530 and no luck.
