Hey Roger,

Sometime last year I got this as a early xmas gift. Well this past weekend, i noticed that it was on but did not spin.

i thought the motor block was locked up so I gave it a vinegar soak and then rinsed it off with rodi. Plugged it back in and it still did not spin.

So i thought it was the controller, so I unplugged it and tried to run it again without a controller again it still did not spin.

I do notice the plug is lit green, and the cord looks intact. doesnt appear to be any parts missing.

what am i doing wrong, thing was working great, but I am loss as to how to fix it. Any ideas

by the way....tunze products are the best, i currently own three 6305 and they are working beautifully without a problem thus far.

thanks again,
jay

Jay,

The propeller should be removed for cleaning every 4-6 months, it is likely locked to the shaft, it should pull out as part 6055.700 and leave behind a motor with a fixed metal shaft. If it does not pull out easily, soak it in vinegar overnight and try to remove it with a gentle twisting motion. If the shaft is pulled out, the motor is usually ruined. Calcium builds up between the shaft and prop/magnet assembly and will fuse the pump together so the prop cannot spin. Once these parts are seperated a vinegar soak should clean them up but vinegar does not penetrate the assembled parts easily.

Hey Roger,

When I pulled the pump out initially the propeller came out easily. The propeller was out a metal shaft was left behind. It was then vinegar for 30 hours. The pump is clean but it still wont spin. I cleaned it with a fine brush but no luck. It seems no vibration when it is plugged in. What can i do next?

Do you have another power supply, from any Tunze pump? I would try it just to rule out the power supply, they occasionally still light up but don't put out sufficient voltage.

Hey Roger,

Unfortunately, I dont have access to another power supply. Should i purchase another or maybe I can send it in and your team can decifer the problem. Last thing I want to do is break it even more than what it is and cost me more in the long run.

I think it is best to send it in, it is probably not worth trying a power supply only to find that is not the issue, please send it in and include a return address and phone number in the box-

BTW, I reread your first post and your 6305 power supplies would work for testing the 6055.
