I have a 72 gallon bow front tank with coral, I'm running two fans, and a fluval 406, for main filtration, I was doing so well with my two tangs, one a powder brown and the other one is a dark Blue tang (not sure of specific name at moment) but either way, he just developed ick last night, I discovered it when he came out around midnight, and now my powder brown is starting to get it as well....does anyone know a medication that can be used to cure it and zap it a.s.a.p...That is also safe on corals!! I can't afford to lose these fish...I'm hoping that someone will have some idea as to what will work the best out there, and where I could get it NOW!!! Look forward to hearing from someone...thanks.

This is best for the disease treatment forums but I will take a stab at it. There are no quick cures for Ich (I should know as I am treating for it right now). The only tried and proven methods are copper, hypo salinity, and transfer method.... Go to this thread for info about the 3 http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1992196 and go to this thread for info about tank transfer method .... http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1996525. Def gonna want to set up a QT tank regardless and leave your main DT fishless for 8 weeks minimum (I'm going 12 weeks to be safe). Don't just assume because you do not see anymore ich that you are cured... you are not. Ich lives in the gills as well so you don't have to see it for it to be there. Make sure you follow the directions for these treatments very closely to ensure you eliminate the issue. After that, make sure to never put a fish into DT without going through QT first .... http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1939508.

I learned this the hard way (as you can see from my current ich issue and will never not quarantine again, just not worth the headache)
