Ugly brown polyps

I've got a rock in the center of the tank that is eating up prime real estate. I don't want to take the tank apart and manually remove, but I am concerned with nuking these things with Kalk and them dying off on large numbers. Anyone ever take out a large number of these things experience any problems?

Can you remove the rock???

You could always Kalk ten or so at a time if removing the rock isn't possible...

I'm currently battling some unruly yellow polyps in my 40g if it makes you feel better... ;)

Naw its one of the base rocks that others rest on unforunately... I may have to do it a bit at a time.. even though that will take a long time. These are even tough to cut off since they are the slim producing ones... I may cut the stalks off and then kalk though.

PS... we still need to arrange a trade you and I :)

I'd say Kalking them slowly is your best bet then... Just make sure you get them all... :) I remember I tried scraping some off in one of my tanks... A few polyps went floating away to start colonies elsewhere... I wish some of my other coral were like that... lol

PM returned... ;)
