really there is enough flow back there in the megaflow that I really don't collect detruis. I did the durso and it works great with my Mag 12 kicked back a hair.

long night early mornin just like x-mas morn, My buddy is the Vice President of Dirt Cheap I'll tell him about the taste test I'm sure he might donate a case of DC Beer maybe even a case of that ol nasty pabst were andwhen is the party I recomend docs house after the new set up is going which I know doc that should be sat night or sun
 
Gimme a chance! I've got it plumbed with drain pipes coming out, a return manifold on it, 2 bags of sand in it and a little water. I dumped in some sand from my display but I couldn't get the little cup in between the rocks and the walls of the old tank to get much. In a few I'll turn on one set of pc's so I can start taking corals to the frag tanks. When those are full I'll start putting them in the sump. Then as soon as I have it down to about 1/4-1/3 I'll walk it away and then scoot the other into the spot, cut a few holes through the wall and hook the drains and return. It will be full of stuff later.

I only hope I don't cycle too much from the additional sand. Other than that it's all the same contents so it shouldn't be too bad. I'll take all the sand that hasn't hardened up or turned black or something. I don't see any black spots but I won't know until I start scooping it out.

Sort of bittersweet though because even though I get 1 more foot in length, I hadn't plannned on messing with this until a much bigger upgrade. Now I'll have to wait a "little" longer for that.

Also I can remove some mushroom covered rocks! Yay!!! I hadn't done that yet just because I would have had to do major rock removal and general messing with the structures but now I'm doing it anyway.
 
lmao, doc. You got more done overnight than I probably would have gotten done in a month. As far as cycling, when I moved my 26 gal into my 120, I started with all new sand and rock from my tank and some I bought from Kurt. I had no real cycle in terms of ammo spikes. I did, however, have a span of time of some algae and cyano growth that was pretty short lived. I only had a couple fish to add at the time too, so the tank had time to catch up with that small of a bioload to contend with right off the bat. With your rock and established sump, you shouldn't have any problems at all, I wouldn't think.
 
Doc- Are the cracks in the tank still getting worse, or did it stop?

Good tank by the way. I bought the exact same one from twp during a big sale last year.
 
way to spot that roy, and you have for sure completed as much plumbing overnight than I have in 3 weeks

although mine was not under emergency needs
 
Roy, when we upgraded my 55 --> 120 using a couple cups of sand, the rock and all fresh water, I didn't have a cycle at all. I wouldn't expect you to have any either. Though of course some water changes wont hurt after the new tank is set up.
 
They haven't got worse today as far as I know but I'm not kicking on the main lights which really showed the refraction of light. I've got most the corals in the back and a number of frags will be posted soon as many grew to nearby rocks etc.

Including some supermans!! Lots of cool zo's too. Not a single mushroom is going back in this tank so for mushroom lovers keep an eye out.

I have to stop temporarily to get ready and go to work from 11-12:30. Then run by Lowe's and grab a piece or two that I forgot to pick up last night. Getting close to grabbing some fish. I'll have to put them in the frag tanks vs. the sump or I'll never catch them again.
 
If you need more temp holding space, let me know since I am close by and have a fair amount of extra space.
