ultra crocea.. lighting

I have the same tank you do but I have a Blue Maxima, My clam does well under my duel 175's and duel 110 watt VHO's. But the crocea is a little more light demanding

so far so good ... clams are opening nicely .. in a few days im gonna get some dt phyto .. keep em even happier...

Chris I agree with you... I started in this hobby 10 years ago when everyone said you needed Triton light bulbs to keep any type of clams or SPS... then it was PC's then MH... I feel that the companies that make these products put these ideas in our heads that "you need this to make your ____ grow" every 3 years something new comes out that you "need" and while some things do better under certain lights, it is not going to die if it doesnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have that, it just wont do as well...IMHO... the fact is, the more light it gets the better it will do, part of having a hobby is trying new things and seeing what works for you and sharing what you found... prove people wrong, find new ways... good luck
