Mine are so used to being fed with my Julians Thing tool that I can rest the tip of it against them and they do not pull away from it at all. I swear its like they know what it is. I feed mine almost every day.
But I have to be certain to feed my Gobie first as he will suck on the end of the feeding tool tip like a baby bottle! Seriously, he puts the whole thing in his mouth and waits for me to shoot the food in.

Yea Darrell has one of the nicest acan collections I've seen... Great guy to deal with...

For all those with Acans..............I just bought my first Tri-color Acan Frag 2 months back and started feeding it 2-3 times a week alternating with Mysis and Brine in Selcon. Growth has been fantastic! Started with three 1/4" Polyps and now have 15 Polyps with the original three at 1/2" or bigger.

My question is what do I mount them on or do they grow a base and expand? They are on their original plug which is only 1 1/2" I think. Should I glue it to a rock or leave it in the sand? If it goes on a rock, does it need to be flat? Will it forever have a hump where I mount it from being on it's base?

Any and all info would be appreciated. Thanks!

They are an encrusting coral, they just spread out.
If waters are relatively calm, they will become a little raised.
