Ultralife Red Slime remover

I know you turn your skimmer off, and take out the carbon. What about my GFO reactor? I have it turned off for the treatment. Also, I only have my lights running for 3 hours (blue's only for feeding) during the treatment. Also, I have my refugium grow light on 24/7 to help out compete the red slime.

Side note, I have been at this for 2 months now. I've been blasting the rocks, feeding way less, syphoning the sand bed, this is my last resort.

The GFO MIGHT absorb it out of the water and diminish it's success. If it were me, and this is what I would do, take any and all advice at your own risk, I'd unhook it and break it down (the GFO reactor); I would clean mine and give the cyano a bit to die off, then I'd get new media and put it back on. You don't want basically a canister of cyano for when and if the thing actually gets clear.

Okay, I was thinking about cleaning it out since it is off. It's sad that I just changed the GFO about a week ago lol. I am hoping this treatment helps. Once it is over and I do a large water change I will ramp my lights back up but slowly. Some people say leave the lights alone during, some say turn them off. I know my coral and fish will be fine. Storms happen in nature and clouds etc. Just love the way my tank looks minus the cyano, everything is doing good.
