Ultralife uv?

Hi Jeremy,
Was wondering what your opinion is on your ultralife uv's vs the aqua's, I'm looking at the pricing.

Ironically enough I just hooked up my first one of the Ultralife UV yesterday on about a 150g clownfish system. My personal opinion on performance is still yet to be determined, but I can tell you that the unit is built extremely well, and definitely top notch quality. Of course AquaUV has the history behind it as one of the best, if not the best, UV sterilizer in just about any water related industry.

Just curious about what wattage you used on the 150. I was looking at the ultra 40 mainly because of size. The 40 in the Aqua is 38" which is pushing it for the room I have for it and the ultra is only 22.

I am using the 40w on this system. I wanted to do the 60w but unfortunately did not have one here at the time I was plumbing it up.

Also wondering how much flow you have through it.

I have right at about 900gph going through this one.

I'm going to give it a try, hope the ballast last's. I can't really find any reviews, so I'll let ya know after I run it for awhile.

I plan on running this at low flow of about 250 gph for a hi kill rate for a few months then upping the flow to about 700.

Hi Jeremy,
Got the uv Friday. In my opinion its built just as good as Aqua, we'll see how well the ballast holds up. So far very pleased.
