unattaching a maxima???

Hey guys, how does one unattach a maxima from a rather large rock that we dont want to break up. Can we try the anenome approaches??

If you place the rock so that it is in a verticle position the clam will release it's bysal .

Lean to one side gently and take a sharp knife and cut the threads not the byssal.

tipping the clam is a good idea...it might take a bit but it does work. Otherwise I have used a powerhead aimed directly at the foot....the clam will release it's foot and start moving.

After reading this I am thinking about moving my maxima clam. Question is is 16 " below a 175 watt 10k ushio enough light for the clam?
