Well I finaly found a way to hang my new tek light. I removed to glass tops and have it hanging 4-6 inches over the water. I have a plexiglass cover for the light so water dosent spalsh up on it. This is the first time I have had a uncovered tank. Will I have any problems? I am worried about stuff jumping out. Any ideas?

Most people keep a uncovered tank I do believe. I have always had mine this way and the only thing I have lost is a crab .Still not sure how it happened .

If you have jumpers maybe some egg crate would help.

will egg crate lower the ammount of halide light entering the tank? if i have one halide every 2 ft of tank will there be less light in the areas not directly under the halied?

do not use egg crate with halides

halides are a point source light

t5 vho pc (it works fine for it)

egg crate can force more light in the tank or flip it over and can force more light out of the tank
