Last time I cured live rock was when i established my tank five years ago. Vanuatu live rock that looked incredible (never retained its coralline alge after my algae bloom unfortunately plus I did not remember having such a bad die off). This time around I purchased florida live rock. Placed it in a large container with powerhead and heater... Next morning the die off was unreal!!!! The stench is unbearable and throughout the whole house!!! I dont have a large tank so dont use a protein skimmer... Ive done a 5 gallon water change every day. Should i use carbon to accelerate the die off process and the smell even though it will absorb important trace elements? Or should i stick to the daily water changes and bear through the week :/ ?

I think you acid bath and cure would be the best idea. There is no reason to use live rock as you can't control pest. Once acid bath pour some baking soda then rinse with fresh water. Sit them in a container of RO water and let soak for a couple days then dump all water and refill with Saltwater then let soak with power head and you can treat to lower phosphates. Or do water change method. Takes about a week to cure but once done you will not have any problems
