I just drained my tank to reseal it and the fumes that silicon puts out is stong to say the least. i had my head in the tank while sealing it and a couple of times i got pretty light headed from the fumes. i do not know what is in it when it is curing but i would say it is not good on the tank inhabitants. is the tank leaking?
no nothing like that, I am looking to install a over flow box in a tank thats up and running instead of just letting drain. hoping ot get surface skim! but it's just not worth it to have to drain the tank...
if you make the overflow box not go to the bottom you may be able to drain the tank down a six or so inches and then silicon it in and then fill it back up. I think it would work as long as you are carefull with the silicon. i am not sure what wet silicon would do to water chem. I read a thread where the guy drilled an external overflow to the tank while the water and fish where in the tank.
