I know that running too much water through an undersized overflow can result in noise but can the opposite can be true?
I have a Glass-holes 1500gph overflow installed on my DT. The overflow has always been noisy no matter what I try. Constant gurgling - no flushing sound. Measured my flow into the tank yesterday and I'm only getting about 189Gph which is substantially less than the max rating of the overflow box.
Am looking to add a UV filter to aid in the dino struggle and trying to decide if I get a separate pump to feed the UV from the DT or upgrade my current return pump (and possibly get the overflow to quit down in the process!). Sump is in the basement so a new return is a little pricey compared to a Mag7.
