underwater case question?

Anyone have any suggestions for what kind of case/shell to put a nikon d40 into for some light snorkeling duty? Looking for nice and cheap, but reliable. It'll be with a 35mm or 18-55mm lens probably.

I looked into this a while back and there really aren't any cheap options. There are the $1000+ hard cases and the $100 bags. The bags look like something that could easily fail and have a pretty limited depth. I bought an underwater P&S instead. It worked well, but not like my XTi would have.
