undulated trigger

i purchased a undulated trigger, he has gone after all 3 of my anemones, and my sea slug... it seemed to sting him and he doesn't mess with them anymore.

my question is will this trigger eventually get along with the rest of the community or try and kill everything...

i've read that if you keep him well fed he wont try to eat any other fish or animals...

my tank contents are, 2 damsels, 2 seabea clowns, a seabea anemone, a saddle anemone, a sunflower anemone, and a sea slug, red general star, sand sifting star, couple hermits, and a fiddler crab...

thanx to anybody with any insight.

Undulateds do not have a reputation for getting along well with others but each fish is different. We had one here in town that kept killing everyone's fish so they would return it to the pet store -it remained in a tank by itself until someone else bought it who then brought it back saying it had attacked or killed other fish etc.. Finally, someone bought it and kept it as a lone fish. Beautiful fish, nasty disposition.

thanx for the input...

I keepp mine in a community and it is pretty docile...nothing compared to my old clown trigg. But I am definately going to put it in a solo tank once it starts seriously fin nipping...I wouldn't take a chance with one and in a reek tank either.

Undy's have a bad rep but they look so damn cool and they are bad *** to boot.

Undys are gorgeous, but they do have a heck of a reputation. We had one at work, she was about 8" long and absolutely vicious. They tried keeping her in a 110g FOWLR with lions, a big foxface, some huge fugly 5" damsels, an eel... nothing was safe. She would attack customers who approached the glass, the hand that fed her, her reflection, it was crazy. It was clear she needed to have a tank to herself, so the marine manager moved her to a 100g sump where she lived happily ever after until someone (who was warned about her disposition and willing to keep her alone) bought her.

Keep a close eye on your trigger. If he starts killing off tankmates, you may end up having to dedicate the entire tank to him or trade him in.

undy's are notoriously aggresive even towards equipment not just fish and inverts.I would remove himfrom your reef. he wont stop killing till it is the only thing in there.

I agree AC Undulates are gorgeous! Or in my case the lovely lady is pretty. Nathan you don't have the most compatible set-up for these guys; inverts, corals etc. will be either eaten or repeatedly chewed on, more suited to a FOWLER with burly tankmates. Or get one that luckily comes with a more mild temperment.

Here's my 5" Undy AKA Hell-ga
