Can a male and female be kept together in the same tank?
anyone, even a best guess.

Don't know- but the undulated has to one of the meanest fish available. I had one many years ago and it was intolerant of any other fish. It would just go bite them and chew them up piece by piece no matter the size of the other fish (and took a piece out of my thumb once!). Really cool looking fish, but brutal. I hope you aren't intending them to go in the 180 reef you list in your sig, I think they will sample most any coral. If you already have one in your reef, then I wonder if I just had a psycho individual.

To my knowledge it is not possible to differentiate sexes in the Undy....And like the above poster said, this fish belongs in a species only tank, fasinating fish, but horribly aggressive once established.

Yes the meanest fish in the sea in my oppinion.But one of the prettiest though!

the undulate is easy to sex,one has spots on the front the other doesnt just cant remember which one the main problem with most triggers(with some exceptions) is they only come together for breeding the rest of the time the sexes are intolerant of each other,so i dont think it would work-nice idea though

I would not mix anything but Maybe a Great White Shark with those Mean Nasty Triggers.
