Im not wanting to start a fight or debate, but...
CHILL OUT PEOPLE!!!
What is with everyone lately? I understand the frustrations of people and their situations, but to publicly bash people and their stores at the first sign of a problem is getting ridiculous - especially around the holidays!
Why don't we do a thread about all the times the different LFS stuck their neck out for us above and beyond what was required when we were in need. Everyone is quick to point out a problem, but slow in pointing out a good deed.

you know what!! i tired of people posting on how we should just not ***** and how nice we should be and how we should point out good deeds.......nah....just kidding...be nice damnit! :)

This is why In continue to support Coral Reef. They may not have the best selection of corals in town but they are the nicest folks in my hood. They have delivered tanks for no charge. Let me pick out my own fish & blackworms. Try to meet online prices if I ask them. Give me discounts I didn't ask for. Even some freebies!

You must deal with Jim or Mitch though.

The reason for me to post a rant was because I want people to know how they treat thier customers, I know of very good shops that have always done me right. Reef Plus in North Aurora, Reef Depot in Lemont, and Hobbyland in Joliet.

I've noticed a couple of recent rant threads where it seems that the mistreated customer didn't exhaust their options before starting to badmouth the LFS. In both of those cases, the customer was mistreated by a non-owner employee, and instead of taking their problem up the ladder to the owner, they became very frustrated and resorted to badmouthing the LFS with a rant thread.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm sympathetic to the plight of a customer who is mistreated by a store and I think that its important to give feedback when that sort of thing happens. But I also think that its important to discuss the situation with the store owner rather than a minion who lacks decision making powers. In an effort to be fair, I think its important to talk to the owner and to exhaust one's options with the store before resorting to the business-bashing rant thread. IMO its always better to take the high road, even though that's extremely difficult when you feel like you've been mistreated.
