Unhappy polyps

I have some sort of polyps, look similar to yellow polyps but different colors. During the on cycle the polyps are some what shrivled, somewhat like they are half open. During the night they are all fully extended. Also the colors don't looks as vibrant as they used too. They are still splitting, actually more then they have before. Any ideas what may cause this. I have t-5 lightings in a 20 gallon tank. I am sorry to say I don't have any water parameters as I have never bought a test kit. Looks like after 2 years its about time.

Thanks,
Matt

I do have a picture but its really poor. I can post it if requested.

Yeah, a pic would be a good start. Identifying them will help determine what it will like. Does anything else look affected? if so, it may be a water quality issue, but if not (doesn't discount water quality, but) I may be that that particular coral wants different conditions.

I will upload a picture tomorrow at work. I have been trying to find a good polyp ID site but have not had luck yet. The only other softy I have in the tank are the green mushrooms and they look very healthy. There are two similar types of polyps both in different locations and they are looking schrunched up.

Looks like these Protopalythoa but are now a lighter color
