Unhappy Shrooms?

In the last month my shrooms have gone from this

To this

No water param changes
I have them Med to Low flow
and Med to low position in the tank

Too newb to help you myself but I can suggest posting the following info as well:

-tank size
-lighting + bulbs + bulb age
-additives
-tank age
-other life in tank - especially near the ric
-any other things that happened recently that you may not think mean anything

Also, be specific about what's wrong. A pic is not only worth a thousand words, it can mean a thousand different things to a thousand different people. I see some color loss. Also looks like they're splitting and moving too. Other than that they appear healthy - spread wide open, not reaching, and mouths aren't protruding.

Yes they have lost coler and they are not laying flat like usual. they are pinched upward. They are in a 40 gal with 250w mh

Look to see if there's a mouth on both sides of the pinch. I had one that looked like that for a month at least before it finally split. It looked terribly unhappy during that time, but now that the process is done and it can stretch out, it's back to normal.

If you've been feeding them, that's probably accelerating the process. If you haven't been feeding them, you could try. Mine completely ignore food when the lights are on, but quickly close up and devour it at night.

You could also try giving them a little shade/less light.

+1. move them to the bottom of your tank. these ricordea are low light.
