Anyone have any idea what this is? That black hole has an inner mouth that opens/closes rapidly and sometimes there are two black antennae out and they rotate around. That's a fairly new Paletta pink tip (colors off from trying to get the best view of hole) and Coral Rx didn't seem to affect it when it was dipped. I'm thinking about killing it with a drop of superglue. Its seems aggressive enough that the coral won't ever kill it or grow over it. Any suggestions?

i remember someone else recently posting that they had it on their monti and they also could not get it off. maybe a week ago....

Don't think it's anything to worry about. I have seen this on a colony I had before and it never spread to other colony's.

I had a couple of this recently on some frags... I read on another thread that you can A. Just let it go, and most likely the coral will grow over it, or B. Put a drop of super glue on it. I opted for plan B, and one of four barnacles survived! (Poor super glue skills :(). So now I have both options to see which works better . There is also a tiny bit of algae growing on the super glue spots, but that seems to be fine. Time will tell, but I believe those to be the reasonable options. That kind of organism doesn't want to kill the coral, but if you have three growing tips and one has a barnacle (or worm or whatever) it will seriously slow the growth.

Only comes on
wild or mariculture coral. Nothing to worry about.

Paletta pink tip is one of the least maricultured corals one can come across these days. I guess they can go from coral to coral in a healthy tank that promotes their reproduction. It looks similar to a vermetid or barnacle and poses no real harm, but superglue it a viable option.
