i had a five gallon jug that i grow phyto in. i also released several thousand freshly hatched brine shrimp about 4 weeks ago. today i filtered out all the brine shrimp and pods to feed my fish. i have known that the brine shrimp had not grown hardly at all, however one single brineshrimp had grown to adult size. i dont understand how this happend! all the brineshrimp came from the same batch and all of them hardly grew at all exept one!
the water i raised them in is dark green and cold. very dense with phytoplankton and pods. the jug is given heavy airation and is in direct sunlight in the greenhouse.
i wonder why 99.9% of the brineshrimp didnt grow yet the single shrimp grew to adult size...
any ideas?
