up and running, need advice, please check it out

ok so my 27g cube, 10 g display huge is finally up and running, but i need a little advice:
because of the bad things i hear about filter socks, i don't want to use it. what can i mod in my overflow chamber to catch debris is quiet the rushing water noise down, the elbow is high enough above the sump waterline that its kind of loud, i know i can extend that down to quiet it, but that won't catch any debris.
also in my retune chamber that pool hose is the overflow from my huge, how can i mod that to give less bubbles, i don't want to add it before the bubble trap bc ill skim off the pods.
keep in mind in my first chamber i have a psk100 skimmer going in. thanks guys

nothing wrong with the filter sock, just change it out every three days or so.

You have a similar setup to mine as I have 3 separate tanks. DT,sump,refugium.

I don't run filter socks either and never had a problem. Really the only way to reduce the bubbles is to add more baffles. I had a similar problem as my skimmer section was too tight so I made that my fuge and moved my skimmer section to where my off shore fuge was supposed to go. Not as aesthetically pleasing but gets the job done.

Thanks. I actually extended the drain down n slid the sock over it and now it's real quiet. Still undecided on the light tho lol. How much of that like spotlight disco effect u get with your ai?

No spot light affect at all, a lot of shimmer though. Don't forget with LEDs you can always change the optics if you feel it has that spot light look but I don't have that issue. AI is about 8inc off the surface ATM.

Hmm. I'm really considering it. It's like get the ai and a mp 10 with the extra 200. Or get the radion then when I get a mp 10 they work together. Or get the ai with a RKL which controls the ai and I think tunze pumps lol

Radion would be overkill IMO on a tank that size, only benefit would really be the added colors you would get and the mp10 compatability. I thought long and hard about the radion but in the end I just couldn't justify the price tag vs benefit for MY tank, but if you got the $$ then do it. Plus I've been dieing to see one in action in person so yea get it and have me over. LOL

I love my mp10, would never own another brand of power head again.
