FRAG SWAP RULES

You must be a member of a reef club to participate in the swap. Member lists will be checked at the admissions desk. You may join MARS at the door but it is advised to do so prior to the swap for check-in convenience.

You will Bring at least 3 frags to participate. They can be a mix of LPS, SPS, Softies and Zoas. The quantity and quality of the picking depends on what everyone brings. Lets make this the best swap ever... bring the best that you can.

There are NO banned corals.

If you do not have 3 frags to bring you can pick some up at a LFS
for around $30.00, but we strongly encourage you to buy them from our
LFS that are sponsoring the event, they have all agreed to have 3 frags
available to you for around $30.00 or less.
All frags must come in hard containers and clearly marked with your forum handle, name of coral (scientific or common name),

The following info is helpful but not required:

Genus (LPS,SPS,Softy,Zoas,Paly's etc"¦), lighting , flow and any
special feeding requirements. We would suggest using labels and putting
them on a place on the container were they will not get wet.

If you do not bring frags in a hard container they will be
available at check in for $1.00 each, labels will also be available at
check in, but PLEASE have them pre labeled and in hard containers as
check in will go much faster that way!!!
We also suggest you bring a cooler to store your frags after you pick.

Recommended Frag Sizes

Zoas & Paly's
Should be at least 5 polyps or more
SPS
Vertical growing sps 1 inch or more, encrusting or plating sps 1 square inch

BONUS ROUND RULES

There will be two types of bonus rounds at the swap. The first is the tier one corals (EF1), for corals that qualify as true rare/exceptional frags. The second type of bonus round is tier two (EF2) frags. These are corals that are outstanding and gorgeous but not quite up to the standards of tier one. See pre-approved list below.

Bonus round tickets will be issued at the frag check-in table.
For every 3 tier one frags, you will receive one EF1 bonus ticket.
For every 3 tier two frags, you will receive one EF2 bonus ticket.

They can be the same coral or 3 different corals as long as they are on the pre-approved tier one or tier two list.
* There is NO LIMIT on how many bonus round tickets you may have.

Picking rounds are timed and will be as follows:
Bonus EF1a, EF1b, EF2a, EF2b,
Round 1 A, B, C, D, E, F
Round 2 F, E, D, C, B, A
Round 3 A, B, C, D, E, F
Round 4 F, E, D, C, B, A

Bonus round will work like this:
The first 2 groups are EF1 bonus picks, group 3 &4 are EF2 bonus picks. Tickets will be shown at entrance and collected at exit. 1 ticket/1 frag pick.
-Group1 (EF1a) You must have at least two EF1 tickets to pick in this round. You will be allowed to use one EF1 ticket /one pick.
-Group2 (EF1b) You may use up to 3 EF1 tickets, 1pick per ticket. All picks must be made in the allotted time.
-Group3 (EF2a) You must have at least two EF2 tickets or one EF1 ticket to pick in this round. You will be allowed to use one EF1 or EF2 ticket/one pick.
-Group4 (EF1b) You may use up to 3 EF1 or EF2 tickets, 1pick per ticket. All picks must be made in the allotted time.

Anyone still holding tickets after the bonus round may use 1 ticket each in the general rounds. That means if you have a ticket you may pick one frag for your regular pick and one for the ticket (exit with 2 frags) for that round. Because there is no limit on how many tickets you may have, there is a slim chance you will not be able to use all your tickets. Number of rounds is determined by how many frags are checked in. You are guaranteed at least 3 rounds of regular picking.

it might be a good idea to post the official EF list here. I can't find the final list anywhere.

You are welcome to bring as many frags as you want, 3 is just the minimum. Some people show up with 30+ frags!

Yes... there are no banned corals for this swap so all are welcome.

And there is no limit as to how many frags you can bring...some people have as many as 20 or 30.
