Upcoming DVRC plans

FishTri - I've been to a few of those meetings in the Springfield township building...it's just down the street from my house. They have a nice big place there. The Delaware County Fish Group still meets there once a month as far as I know.

Ronert - Bill at ECA has expressed a strong interest in having a part in our new club. I am sure he would make the store available to us to host a meeting.

the date for the swap and garage sale is going to be in late february or march. I dont know if an actual "sidewalk sale" will be feasible. We need to look indoors. Crazy4salt is working on locating a venue for this event.

As far as a "building" for meetings when member homes arent available, I would like to locate a central "building" for those. We dont want to lock ourselves in to a western burb this early in the clubs life. We are building our club around the idea that we will serve the ENTIRE philly area. We need to be accessible to all the burbs in those cases when we arent in a home. Maybe an actual center city location? How about North philly? ( :uzi:

North Philly? What, you have a death wish? Isn't that really close to PARC? I thought the DVRC was for the burbs... I realize that we have northern DE, Southeast PA, southwest NJ... so I think we ought to try to make sure that we host meetings in each of those areas on a semi-regular basis...

I know with 3 kids that I am more likely to make a meeting in Chester/Montgomery/Delaware County than I am to make a meeting in Wilmington or Cherry Hill or Bucks County...

Rod- The clubs "area" is everywhere from Lancaster to mid Jersey, and from Quakertown down to N. Wilmington, and everywhere in between. We are here to move around and let those in the areas that have no club, or want more from a club join us, and come to our meetings. We do know that not everyone can make every meeting, but it isnt fair to hold all our meetings in the western burbs, if we want to include the other areas.
I said CC only because it really is central...and for meetings at an official meeting place, I feel they should be centrally located within the clubs area. (which is North Philly!--- break out your Gats, Yo! )

I'm not at all certain that you'd need a "base" place. So far the meetings have hosts, in all different areas, why not believe it'll continue? I think it's a nice feature of the club that it moves around the Delaware Valley. Max. availability to interested members.
I look forward to hosting an eastern one soon, it's fun to be the host!

It looks like the scuba thing at Adventure Aquarium may not work for our group. We are still working on the trip though...
