Your Apex Fusion cloud interface was just updated today. New features and also some small changes and refinements. You DON'T have to download or do anything except refresh the page.

One of the biggest additions in this release is the new feature called HEARTBEAT. We will soon have a video out to go over it in detail, but you can turn it on right now and should your Apex get disconnected from our Apex Fusion for any reason, you will get a notification. Of course, it can't know if the disconnect was due to a power outage, your cat chewing through the cable, an internet outage, or your kid reprogramming the home router, all Apex Fusion knows is that your Apex disconnected and you should probably find out why.

Be sure to click the drop down and select "Release Notes" to see all the new changes in this release.

Again, this does NOT mean you need to update your Apex AT ALL. This has already happened and all new features will be available to you with a refresh of the Apex Fusion page.

Thanks for the news. Great update for power outages. I just turned on heartbeat but have not tested to validate yet. Anyone test yet?

Weird that there was an update yesterday cause for the first time in 4 months my apex disconnected and I had to reboot router and reset wifi on apex to get it to reconnect.

Click on "Apex" at the top left, then under Setup click "Heartbeat".

I'm very curious to see how this performs. This has always been a sore spot with me and my Apex because it never notifies me if there is an outage. If I notice it disconnected and reset the connection, I then get the notification. This sounds like a great new feature!

Well, that was kind of a tease. The link above just goes to a page that says:

Its been great! Mine tells me if the wifi in my home is off or has lost connection. Its a great feature only thing is when I am not at home there is nothing I can do. Do any of you have access to your home router and remotely do a reset?

That is possible. I still have DNS set up from before the days of Fusion and have my Asus RT-AC87R set up for access. I can use their app to reboot my router remotely. I can also do many other things remotely with it, but typically don't because I'm not the greatest and have this fear of messing it up when I'm away.

I know what you mean lol

We have pretty frequent, but short, power outtages where I live. It took a little longer than I would've liked for it to notify me, but it did. Pretty cool.
