wow that looks pretty cool. I wish I could find a GBTA with a colored base like that. Do you keep it in the same tank with your H. Crsipa???
 
Yes. Keep them all in the same tank and no problems. I usually try to avoid anemones that inhabit the same area in the wild such as sand dwelling anemones or rock dwelling anemones. For example, I wouldn't want to have a H. Crispa and a M. Doreensis together since they are both sand dwellers. There is a bigger probablity I have read when you have different species together that are either both rock dwellers or sand dwellers for chemicle warfare. Know what I mean? Hard to explain in words.
 
Hmmm. Yeah that makes sense to me since they won't realy compete that much much for space. Well good, now I can safely add an H. Crispa to my aquarium with a RBTA.

sorry, didn't mean to send it twice... I wonder what makes BTA's lose their bubble tips. I think maybe one day I will make a controlled study with different lighting and water perameters to see what makes a BTA keep its bubble tips.

Nothing is a given. They might have chemicle warfare but the chances are lower since they are not competing for the same spot.
 
How big is your RBTA? I notice too sometimes when I feed my RBTA, it tentacles become more bubbly but don't stay like that for very long.
 
If you take care of your new H. crispa, it will outgrow that 26 gallon by far, ATX aquarist. A healthy one would likely fill the whole tank in a relatively short amount of time. 55semireef, you may find yours getting too large eventually to keep the two together. I know there is no way I could include a BTA in my 75 with my H. crispa.
 
It is hard to say, but if they are fed like they are supposed to be, they can get anywhere from 18-24" in diameter. I never expected mine to get that big when I put her in my 75. I really had to work around her to do anything. I am not familiar with the dimensions on a 40 cube, but it sounds like it is 20x20x24-ish, correct? That would probably house a fully grown specimen but only that specimen and its clownfish.

I think that would be a fine setup. Would a 150 watt MH fixture over it be fine for lighting?
