I went to the guys house and his whole back area was covered with mounds of sand. I did the vinegar test and it fizzed like crazy!! I brought a couple buckets home and added some water. There are a whole bunch of shells in it and it is definitely calcium based. I think they got it out of the st. John's river and the biggest issue I saw was the clay deposits in the sand. It looks like it would be perfect mangrove mud, but tank sand, I would be leary. If someone had an industrial sieve, to separate the good particles from the bad(over or under sized), I think it would be great source high in CaCO3.
In conclusion, calcium carbonate based sand, over 4500Lbs of it, from the St. John's so it would need serious cleaning, lots of shells and clay-like sand deposits(may have just been really clumped, but...).
If you do take it, it is at your own risk. I probably would not recommend it, but some people are more willing to save a buck than I. Do not hold me or the owner, John accountable. If anyone still wants it, call me at 4078082212
Sorry guys and gals, looks kind of like a bust.
