Woah. Did you order extras with the package or is that just what comes with "the package"? If you ordered extras what did you order? Was there any extra rock in the 2nd part?

Do you have any mantis shrimp still in your tank? If no, how did you get them out?

Whatever you do...don't remove that fern caulerpa. (weed it carefully) It is using up nutrients in your system. If you remove it, something else will surely grow (like hair algae).

My tank looked like that for a while, then I added a Naso Tang who ate all the caulerpa. Within a few weeks, I had major algae problems!

You have a beautifully balanced looking system there.

I wish I could give you the magic answer to keeping the sponges thriving....

I had to prune my Caulerpa it was taking everything over. I have it all over one rock and some elsewhere so hopefully it will grow back, but it went through a period of literally covering everything. :eek2:

That's good. If it is growing it is removing nitrate and nutrients from the water. Removing some at a time is just a nice natural way to export nutrients....Just don't try to eliminate it completely or something worse will use the nutrients that it is currently using.

YA I TRIM IT EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS WHEN IT STARTS TO LOOK LIKE OVERKILL. IVE BEEN HELPING A FRIEND SET UP A 55 G AND I GIVE HIM ALL THE STUFF THAT I TRIM SO HE CAN GET IT GROWING IN HIS.

Like hair algae! Man I had it all over my glass AND the calupera everywhere. Hair algae mostly gone though.
