I'm bummed I missed Barry being sick, so I decided to take some tank shots:

Nah, he's in there. I think they tried to spawn under a rock in the corner of the tank. She (I think didn't come out for two days, and after she did there was strings of little bubbly masses everywhere where she had been hiding out.

Kind of neato!
:D

Yep! It was in the tank when I got it- I think in July??? I cut off all the dead skeleton with a Dremel tool, thinking it was in for bad times... but then it added a new mouth. I'm kind of encouraged, but given their track record in captivity I am not holding my breath, either!

:D

Really pretty clam, doesn't look like you needed help with clams! Can hardly wait for these zoanthids to multiply and need to be thinned out.

Laurie,
Don't you have anything in there that will eat the macro-algae? No tangs? Is that on purpose, or have you just not gotten around to it yet?

Hey Cabin!
I did add a yellow tang this past week out of a bit of frustration, but before that I was just harvesting it and giving it to local fish stores in exchange for store discounts (I usually take frags in anyway)... but it grows faster than I had time to harvest it. The tang at least eats back some of the noncalcium based stuff for now- there are 3 kinds od calcium based that he won't eat I guess because they taste bitter to him, or something like that.

LOL, free macro, majanos, tulips, at my house, anytime... :D I actually rearranged the rock last Friday, too. I needed more space for some incoming new stuff so I did a sort of half way up the tank- three mountain set up so that I could place frags in sort of a 3-D pattern on the cliff faces. I'll try to take some more pics soon and show you.

Was reading another saltwater book and changed the auquascaping to three mountains. I think I like it better- I actually found I had MORE space for frags without losing any of the rock.

I think the fish like it better also- they haven't been near so timid. My Betta (Comet) has been coming out more, which makes me really happy...

:D

I definatly like it better with the 3 mountains..
If your tang is really good at eating green stuff, I may have to rent him from you for a week or so to cut down on some of my hair algea:)

Hehe, not really- I am selling a bunch that I harvested in the trade forum on this website and one other I go to. I wish he ate that much! He actually prefers the nuisance algae to the stuff I have as macro- go figure. You are welcome to try him anytime. :D

He's an odd bird- he actually likes to be petted. Seriously. It started that he would eat pellets like my clown from inside your cupped hand, and now he just is always trying to rub up against you. Freaked me out at first- thought he was trying to spike me with his little white spike near his tail fin- but I gave in one day and petted him and he's been like dog ever since. Named him Benji...

LOL
