Upgrading my bow front 75 Gallon and looking to go with a bigger tank! 3 choices i have narrowed it down to are 155 bow front, 140 tall and 140 regular, all of which are reef ready. Cant decide between the 3 and would welcome any and all suggestions on which to go with. Its a softie and acro tank with small fish and I'm going to use a deep sand bed probably 4" with HQI lights. Also any suggestions on places to find good deals on tanks this size are welcome as well as any tips on what type of equipment i should use with it as far as skimmers and what not.

Only opinion(s) here but here goes.....

Bow fronts are cool because of the optical qualities. but the space created in the front bow only inreases water volume not usable space. Tall tanks are "thin" generally front to back. Most folks with these type tanks put a wall of rock in the back, which does not look natural. I prefer the more square tanks. The closer to even dimensions you can get the better "viewing" you'll have. I had a 100+ gl tank that was 4' Long and 2X2' wide and high. It was plenty large for a nice reef and optically easy to look at and see through even from an angle. I have a 90 now for several reasons but if I were to do it again I'd go back to the 100+ tank specs. Loved it. It was easy to provide an interesting aquascape and had plenty room to grow.

Stay with reef ready. Just easier to plumb and operate. With a tank in the size range you are looking at, I'd definitely go with 2 overflows. You should check out the thread on "A super quiet reef tank" if the tank is in your living area or where you relax. you can make the tank nearly silent.
