upgrading tank and need more info

I’ve never owned one but I hear they are very territorial so, you should only keep on or a mated pair.

Here’s a thread with some good info.
I read that too. Were only gonna get one or the other. Just like to know more about all the fish and inverts were thinking about before they get put in the tank so I can be prepared. I read the lobster is the last thing to be added to the tank because of them being territorial. Also read that you should drop them into the tank close to the cave you want them to hangout around. Not sure how true that is.

I would prefer to have a mated pair of coral banded shrimp in a 200. Plus a cleaner shrimp of some kind. Also urchins can be fun or not fun it the rocks are too mall. The can be bulldozers.

There are endless options. Some things get along with other things. Everything grows or dies. Some are beautiful but you just stop trying like anthias for me.

Sea animals are unforgiving and territorial at times. It can happen at any time with fish that have been together a long time.
Over time my tank has gone to fewer larger fish now. The winners are still in it. I ordered a fish that was supposed to be a bristletooth smaller tang for the 180. It got larger so I moved it to the 240.

It killed the niger trigger, a flame fin tang and the sailfin tang. It is as large as my clown tang now. I have a Koran Angel not in this pic. It decided it didn't want the emperor in there anymore one day. The clown tang decided it didn't want the foxface in there anymore.
I have been too wimpy to buy an animal, have it put in the mail and hope putting it in an acclimation box will let the others accept it when it gets here. Also I would have to purchase larger fish now just to survive the bit of harassment they will get once they go in that is normal.
Ah the pics are too big and I dont feel like fighting that right now.
but this are some beginning and the end is more like

With chromis larger than most tangs purchased new. But I have 5 because they are 3 different types. Yes a school of one kind is nice but disappears. It you buy 3 of 3 types you end up with 6. Now 5 because one of the blue reef passed.

I cant help but feel with AI and all that stuff now spell check should know chromis is a valid word. Yes I know you can add it. I did. With Parkinson's about 30% of what I type I have to fix.

Even the corals have winners and losers for me. Perhaps younger people are more active with tank maintenance.

And then there is the 180. It has 2 fully grown snowflake eels with a powder blue tang, some butterflies and 2 dwarf angels. The eels are about 24 and 30 inches long now, It did have 3 dwarf lions but I became unable to get live food and they passed.

how about a rock crab from the live rock. One of my wife's favorites I have had. He would come up and wave at you when you walked in and wait to be fed.

Everyone that does this will have their own journey with high and low spots on the way.

With the lobsters, I’ve never owned one but take a look at max sizes. The purple only gets 5 inches while the blue gets around 14 inches. In a 200, the purple may get “lost” or hard to find per se but I don’t think a full size blue would be hard to spot.
