Upgrading tank - How do I replace wet/dry with sump/fuge?

I currently have an established tank (100g) with a wet/dry at a relatives house. I want to use a sump/fuge for my new tank (180g). How would I go about this setup and prepare to move the inhabitants from my old tank without a cycle or other problems? I plan to use a 40 gallon breeder for a sump.

Thanks

you are going to have to set up your new tank and let it go through it's cycle and then start bring over some inhabitants

If you are able to leave the old tank set up for a while, I would get the new tank up and running. Transfer some live rock over...maybe a damsel or something hardy to help get things established. It will cycle of course, but if you add things slowly, it should be mild.

If you have to take the old tank down right away, gets lots of water containers and lots of help if you can. Take everything including the water and move it to the new tank. Have extra saltwater premixed (obviously the contents of your 100g wont fill the 180g). Do the move all at once trying to keep the live rock and substrate in water.

If I do everything at once, will a cycle still occur? Should I drop in bio balls from the wet/dry until I get to the point that I can remove them completely?
