upgrading to a 20L

well as the title sounds, i am planning an upgrade! i only have a 5 gal right now, small reef with a mantis shrimp. however i am upgrading to a 20L, within the next few days (possibly this evening). my initial question is, using the 5 gals from my set up tank, and the rock and sand, will my corals live survive the transfer?will have 15 gallons of set up of fresh salt water(proper temp, sg) but i am worried if there will be a cycle/if said cycle will be detrimental to the livestock.. and with this upgrade, i plan on getting a fish or two, this also is relevant to the cycle (if ill have to wait to add a fish). thanks in advance, sorry if this is in the wrong section!wasnt sure where to put it:spin2:

Moving the live rock that is currently supporting your tank to one that just has more water volume should not cause a cycle. Stirring up your sand bed is more likely to cause a problem. Better to start with new sand and maybe add a cup from your old system as a kick-start for a live sand bed.

If you add fish, you'll need to do so gradually to allow your bacteria colony to adjust to the added bioload.
