upset nem or just hungry?

I have had my nem for a couple months now, and he is getting bigger and looks really happy. I recently had to move a small rock that he was near, which also changed his orientation. Although he never moved or detached himself, he was once facing sidewards, now he is facing upwards. Still on the same rock. He seems ok. His form changed a tad due to the orientation change, but seems OK.

well, I fed him his normal scallops on this past Sunday prior to a water change. He gets fed every other day. Eats well, and looks happy afterwards.

After the water change last night, I went and looked the tank over, seeing how things were doing. I look at him, and I see two red "antennas" sticking out of his closed mouth, about an inch in length. There was nothing else around. I thought, ***, Is this a bad sign, or did he just eat a peppermint shrimp!!?? :hmm3: I haven't seen the 3 peppermints in a while, but haven't been searching for them either. I did see one on the other side of the tank after the water change, and didn't think much of it. So I went back to the nem and watched him for awhile. The red things i think are the antennas were still in it's clenched mouth.

I had one of the molts of the shrimp in the bottom of the tank a few days back, but I haven't seen that since. So I don't believe that's it. Every once in awhile, the pepp will come to the nem and pick little pieces of food off it. I am wondering if the pepp ****ed the nem off, and the nem closed up in a hurry, like a venus fly trap. If that was the case, how can the nem eat the hard shell of the pepp?

I'm going to check on the nem when I get home, but those antenna like things are concerning me. If it is from the pepp, then so be it. These antennas are so small/thin, pictures would be hard to get. Plus they are only an inch out of the nems mouth.

anyone ever hear of this happening?

From what I understand they could possibly eat the shrimp when it's soft after molting. My cleaner shrimp walk across my anemones all the time without issue.
