Urchin ate part of my leather

So the title says it, I pulled a bone head move and stuck a non-reefsafe urchin in my tank and he ate part of one of the leathers before I got him out. I am not even sure what type of leather it is ( I got it at a local frag swap) I think its a stag horn maybe..... its about 4x4in around so its not terribly big. Its been about 5 days since the attack happened and I cant tell for the life of me if its healing at all or getting worse. It not expanding druing the day even a bit. Should I cut away the chewed area?Would a clean cut make it easier for to heal up? Any input is aprciated.

Thanks

What does the chewed edge look like? Is it turning black or showing any other sign of fungus o infection? If not, I would just let it be - leathers don't appreciate being touched, so it will likely take a while to get over being gnawed.

Staghorn is usually a name used to describe hard corals. Do you maybe have a devil's hand?

No there are no black parts on it yet. I dont belive its a devils hand, actually I just searched for a bit it looks pretty dead on a Lobophytum except it is green with bright green polyps as aposed to the beige/pinkish coloring I am seeing in the internet pics. I will leave it be and see if any area starts to blackin
