Urchin in refugium?

Someone in my local clubs needs to get rid of a large longspine urchin and I thought that it might work to put it in my refugium. The tank is a 120. Does anybody see any downsides to this? Will this cause nutrient problems? Will the grouper in there be killed by it? Thanks, Tim

I was also wondering about adding a urchin to my fuge. I know they will eat macro algea, but would they eat me cheato since it does not attach to the rocks?

I have a tuexdo urchin in my fuge and it is doing fine. I have cheato in there and it's not really attached to anything either just a few small pieces of rock but they don't do much to secure it. chickencannoneer along as it has food it will do fine.

Used to keep a tuxedo in my fuge. Grew more than the one in the main tank. Didn't bother anything. Not sure about the longspine though. Wouldn't the grouper be more of a threat to the urchin than the other way around???

the words grouper and refugium seem to clash.
The urchin would be fine. One problem is they occasionally get all tangled up in macroalgae, if you have any.
Be sure to have an adequate screen on your output so the urchun doesn't accidently block the system.
