Urgent Anemone Help Needed!

So I just got home right now and noticed my BTA wasn't there. I loked closer at the tank and saw that his foot was still there but he was under a rock. I thought maybe it was splitting or something until a couple minutes later I saw him floating around in the tank!!! Is he dead or something? His tentacles are still inflated and he hasnt lost any color. What should I do?!?!?!? All water parameters are normal and all corals seem to be ok

He didnt get sucked up, the PHs are on opposite sides of the tank and the Nem is right in the middle of the tank so there was no danger of it getting sucked up. Right now it is just moving around in the water column because of the currents

It doesnt like something in its enviroment. Do some water tests asap. Are you feeding it? what kind of lights do you have over it, anything that could be annoying it?

I feed it a piece of raw shrimp about once or twice every couple of weeks. All water parameters are stable. It is under MHs. It was fine for quite some time (about 4 months) and this just happened all of a sudden

mine only did that when something was bugging them, tiger cowrie ate a hole in it! so it jettisoned. grab it and put it back where it was and see what happens

I don't think it has dies yet, but I am keeping a close eye on it. Since my first couple of posts, I've moved him to a safe spot inside a bowl with a rock and his foot came over to where the bowl is! This is just weird!!!

Okay hold on buddy, biocubist is here! First off I have seen things like this happen before. I thnk it is safe to say that the part of the BTA that is floating is already dead. The foot can still regenerate over time. What happened was the anenome was inflating and a strong current must have caused it to twist on itself several times until its circulation was cut off and the area became ischemic and broke off. I am sorry for your BTA, but there is still hope for the foot part.

You might want to try a rescue container in your tank. Kind of a rubber made shower container with holes and suction cups. While in your tank it will help the BTA get back to normal and keep it from being bothered.

Also Where you had the BTA did you notice anything that might have irritated it? Aptaisa, rock anemone, ect...

Also did you have direct flow on it?

If you can post a pic. Will help out. Also do you notice a part of the foot on a rock still that has separated itself?

That top portion that fell off is not going to make it, it wont be able to generate a foot if all its intestines are all spilled out. I strongly believe that a strong current spun it on its axis and where it twisted, that area became ischemic. The foot portion will make it for sure.

ok..did I miss something here... Did he say the foot came off from the body?

"I loked closer at the tank and saw that his foot was still there but he was under a rock." "I saw him floating around in the tank!!!"

It sounds like to me that the anenome is in two places at once. Its foot is on the rock and the upper portion is floating about the tank. The event that he describes is strikingly similar to the story that I attached as a link. In this same story, the upper portion survived for about 3 days, until it started to decompose. The foot portion made a miraculous recovery and came back stronger then ever.
