Urgent help / advice needed

FWIW, I'm not new to saltwater fish (new to corals), been in the game since the late 90s. Two fish that I've never been able to keep alive are a copperband and a blue ribbon eel.

After about 5 tries on each I'm done. I'll never buy another.

Not that I'm some fish expert or anything. Just tying to illustrate the time frame involved without success.

The easiest way to catch the CBB is once lights are out for the night and it's "sleeping" catch it with your net at this time.

I agree with all of the other posts, you have Diatoms and will get many other algae that pop up all of a sudden. Now since you're having a Diatom bloom get a CUC of various snails and I suggest the only hermit to get is the scarlet legged. The blue legged hermits will kill other hermits and your snails just for the fun of killing. The scarlet legged are great cleaners and don't bother anything in your tank.

Good luck and take it slow.

Turbo snails are awesome! They came into action a little late, but is eating the brown algae / diatom at a superb rate ! Really wonderful to see him eating those nuisance ... :uzi:
