OKay guys had my mandarin dragonette for over 6 months now, but out of the blue while my tank was filled to the top he decided to jump...

Just found him now all dried up on my floor in a blue blob...

Picked him up to do whatever with him (Put him in the bin probably) when he started to wriggle...

Grabbed my tank and set up a quick quarantine... hes finding it hard to swim because he is getting caught in his own mucus... pull it off maybe?

No pods atm will grab some tomorrow if he is still alive... should i just leave him in the quarantine or stick some mysis in maybe?

Any help would be appreciated guys!

I would put him back into the tank he came from. As long as nothing will pester him put him back into an environment he knows and he can eat pods there. Just keep an eye out for secondary infections.

10 gallon coral tank, hang on fuge, gonipora, sun coral, toadstool, sulpher ts, gold crest ts, metallic brains, candy cane... and the mandarin

Put him back in the display? he can hardly swim because the mucus is wrapped around him, the tank is high flow

Try to hold him in the flow of one of the currents (not directly in front, kind of hold him in one hand, but baffle the direct flow around him to make it less forceful on him). Assuming that the water has rehydrated the mucus, the mucus should blow off. Try fanning it off of him. This sounds confusing, lemme try again:

Make a cage out of one hand, and keep the mandarin in there. Putting him in the DT, see if the mucus starts to come off. If not, then try fanning the mucus off with one hand, or slowly pushing water out of a turkey baster on him to dislodge it. If this still doesn't work, wait 15 minutes or so, and try again. DO NOT, under any circumstances, stick him straight in front of a powerhead.

Good Luck!!

He just about made it through the night, still not swimming, added pods and lr to quarantine.. put some stress treatment in too
