Urgent Naive question about plumbing return and drain

Hi all, quick question but huge impact probably. Should I also glue the pipes that are in the tank? Namely return, herbie drain and emergency herbie drain pipes that are under water?
Maybe its a really naive question 🤦‍♂️
Thanks

There are no naive questions in this hobby ;)

I personally do not glue any plumbing that is inside the tank/overflow. IF something were to get stuck in there, it's a lot easier to remove the obstruction if you can simply pull the fittings apart.

Ok thats same point I also had, plus if the heights are not good i can still change them but I should probably use some oil to get the pipes really deep without glue, am I right?

I wouldn't use any type of oil in the tank environment. I've always just used RODI. But, if you wanted something more effective, I would *think* you could use something like pool silicone lubricant.

I wouldn't glue the pipes on the inside. I have (4) 1.5" drains in my overflow and I have had to remove them for maintenance, adjustments, etc and I would have been in trouble if they were glued. If they ever leaked, though, it is so small that it would barely drip. I really wouldn't sweat it.

Yup, but I wonder whether the pressure from the return pump might disconnect the return line resulting in a disastrous fountain 😂

Yes, I would definitely glue the return if you have it set up that way. I was only speaking towards the drains.

At the end I did add a tread connection so that I can remove and change if I need to. Thank you all for the suggestions!!
