Uronema

I just want to make sure that it seems the best way to treat uronema is Formalin or Malachite Green?

I have an anthias I believe to be infected. Sorry for the photo quality, she was zipping around chasing brine and is awfully skittish.

This spot developed today, and the fish is still active and feeds well on live baby brine shrimp. I am hoping I can save this fish and the 4 other lori anthias in the group. They are in QT, and I've had them since Tuesday. Any help is appreciated.

It is worse today, and now I'm not sure what this is anymore all over again. She is still behaving normally.

I am by no means an expert, but if that ulcer was caused by uronema infection, meth blue, mala green, and hyposalinity seems to be the treatments. Good luck.

I began a Malachite Green treatment but I'm cutting it short. Looking at it more now I am doubting uronema and suspecting it is bacterial. I had one die today that had a similar sore near the tail, and it wasn't there yesterday. Something inside could be going on for it to kill the fish like that, not sure. I'm beginning antibiotic treatment for the whole group since it has now appeared in more than one fish, and it could be in others. The fish in the photos is actually still alive and behaving normally, but the sore continues to get uglier.

As an update, it was bacterial. I had one responding to the antibiotics, but it had been going on too long inside the body to make a complete recovery, though the wound did start to heal. I've lost four to this. One remains, but at least it seems healthy.
