Good Day

I hope that you can help with this problem.

What I’m using:

ProfiLux Plus II eX
Digital Powerbar
USB interface

What’s Running:

Windows XP SP3
Software 4.03
Firmware 4.03
Treiber für PLM-USB dated (24.12.2007)

The Problem:

When using the software to manually control the digital powerbars the program often crashes for some or other reason. It seams to happen more to the products that use more power to operate. EG Metal Halide, chillers ect...

Please Help!

Hi

the driver you use is the newest version.

We should check now if there is a problem with the driver in your system or if your hint that high power devices cause a crash is important.

Is the connection working without issues if the powerbars don't have power (no devices are switched on)?

Hi

The connections are working provided that nothing is connected to the powerbar. You can click on the squares and the bar and program respond without a problem in override mode.

Now when you connect Eg. The Heater to the powerbar and try to control it via the manual override the program crashes. Not always but in 80% of the cases.

it seems the switching on of the device produces electromagnetic disturbances or a short power breakdown

is the ProfiLux disturbed or does he continue working without rebooting?

It can't be the connection of the powerbar to the ProfiLux because the powerbar doesn't give a feedback if there is a device connected or not. It can only be the switching of the load.
Possible reasons: Bad socket? Grounding? Cables to near to signal lines, maybe even to the USB line?

Hi

The profilux continues to work as normal, just the pc software crashes.

It could be a grounding issue the heater does not have an earth
but than again my metal halide has an earth but it still craches the software.

It's strange. Got 2 profilux systems running and both do the same thing

It's so stange no one else has had a problem?
