Used Polyurethrane containers safe?

hello i just purchased a used polyurethane container to mix saltwater with, i could smell a hint of gasoline but is not oily or anything at all. i don't know what it was used for either would it be safe for use? i have soaked it in vinegar and water for 2 days how else could i clean it? thanks

If it smells like anything, don't use it. If you can smell it, it's still there.

+1, you can get a 5 gallon bucket at Home Depot for about $4.00, why risk the investment in your tank for $4.00? If you need a larger container, get a heavy duty trash can.

Don't risk it. it's better off spending a few buck on a new one.

Its not worth the risk of crashing the tank. I would also look for a container that says ( Food Safe ) This means that its made with materials that won't leach into the food.
