used skimmer in the area?

Im looking to step up my reef game a little bit and im considering a skimmer...

i have no particular preference as i dont know much about skimmers BUT i do have a general price range: below $200

it will be skimming an overall system volume of ~50 gallons but id like to buy a skimmer i could use well into the future (even though i doubt ill have a tank much bigger than this anytime within the next 10 years...)

so, if anyone has a good skimmer for sale in the area i may be interested,,, i trust that everyone around here will look out for my best interest (i.e. if the skimmer sucks you will say something, or if the price doesnt seem fair you will do the same)

hey matt, I didnt buy it locally but I got my reef octopus for 213 shipped. I think it was rated to be for a 300 gal but works great. Check them out at aquacave.com

depents on how much room you have in youre tank i have a few i can sale this is one of them

this is working every day

i know NOTHING about skimmers so any experience you have to offer is appreciated...

itll be in my tank (20 display with 45 gallon sump) and i have a decent sized area to fit it in the sump, i can measure for you tomorrow or later tonight.

I have a baby Sea Life Systems skimmer perfect for a 20 gal or smaller asking 40.00.

And a Pro Clear Aquatics skimmer rated for a 150 but better for a 90 or less IMO that was used for 4 months.Asking 75.00.

I almost forgot I also have a Tunze Comline. It's one of the larger ones they make and is rated for 250 gal but is probably best for something close 50-100 galons.I'd like to get 90.00 as it sells for 327.00 new. It's about 4 years old.

Heres the link to Marine Depot for the Tunze information.

Also have a hang on the back if interested and a Red Sea Berlin with no pump in like new condition for 40.00 ,I was going to use for ozone but never got to it.

bullred i think all of those are good options except the one meant for 20 gallons as my system is upwards of 50-60 and the red sea berlin,,, because i havent heard anything decent about them...
all those include the necessary pumps?

really its all greek to me so i guess ill do some research

Yup,all have pumps. The Berlin was only to be used for ozone as they are terrible skimmers.I've seen alot in peoples tanks but never seen one work.
