Ushio 14K

I have used both the BLV 10K and BLV 14K and there is little difference in color between them when used with actinics.

Without actinics on, the BLV 10.000 K looks very green. The BLV 14.000 K looks more yellow. With actinics on, the BLV 14.000 K looks completelly white (no hints of blue).

jackson6745,

These pictures were taken by a friend in Spain and at the time of the pictures, he was running the 250 watt lamps with ACLS controllers from Sfiligoi. I think the Sfiligoi ACLS's are equipped with electronic ballast.

I running the same ACLS controllers, but for 400 watt lamps. I just placed and order for 2 x XM 20K to see the difference and I'm also trying to get 2 x 14K Aquaconnects. I'm currently running the BLV 14K 400 watt but is too white for me.....

I have the 150W DE version and I am very happy with it. For the first month it had a yellowish tint to it however that has disappeared (or I no longer notice it).

panosb,

My friend was measuring LUX and not PAR. Lux for the 10.000 K was 23.000 (very similar to the 14.000 K) and Lux for the 20.000 K was 8.500 (new bulbs).

Big difference....
