Using a Tunze 9002 on a 60 gallon tank

Hello All...

I've got a 60 gallon uniquarium (the one with the overflow, filter, bioballs, etc. in the back of the tank). The only advantage to this is it allows me to use the tank in the limited space we have while not having to add a sump underneath. I know, it's not ideal, but it's the best option I had.

Anyhow, given the limited space in the back, the only good skimmer that I can find that will fit is the Tunze 9002. I use this currently in my 40 gallon and it's fantastic. I am thinking of adding the same model to my 60 gallon.

Regarding the tank, it is a lightly loaded tank. 5 to 6 small to midsize fish that are fed once a day. The rest is live rock and some of your basic corals (star polyps, button polyps, mushrooms, xenia, frogspawn, hammer coral).

Anyhow, let me know if this is a good idea or if the 160 bucks would be better spent on something else. I have to believe that adding the 9002 will benefit the tank, although maybe not as much as an appropriately size skimmer.

Thanks.

I think it is better than nothing and the load is fairly light so with a good waterchange regiment and some carbon/phosphate remover it should work.
