Just finished using the Hanna ULR Phosphorus Checker for the first time. Never knew what my PO4 levels were until now.

Test 1---- 11ppb\ .034ppm
Test 2---- 8ppb\ .025ppm (tested 10mins after the first)

SO my question is am I in the safe zone or should i try to lowering them?
The problem Im having is that the purple frags i have are fading. One month old in tank this monday. I've reduce my lighting a few days ago, maybe it was too much??

Other parameters are:
Cal-- 420
Alk-- 8.1 dkh Using BRS 2 part with Aquaforest reef salt
Mag- 1380

Check your nitrates. If they are low you need to raise them. I had the same problem. Low phosphates, 0 or close to 0 nitrates = fading corals. Go to reef central and look up nitrate dosing.

.03 is a pretty good number.
You can get more consistent readings by making sure you get all the powder out. Emmett taught me to use a toothpick to dig out the corners.
Also rinsing the outside of the test vial with freshwater and the drying really well without touching the glass should give you the same reading if you do 10 tests back to back. I did 3 one time just to verify.
