Using Prazipro in the DT?

I think my clowns have some parasites. I saw a translucent white raised bumb on one of my clowns. I saw something years ago on another one of my fish and knew this type of parasite usually comes off in a freshwater dip, so I subjected my clown to one. Well, the the parasite didn't come off, but it moved!!! Did some more reading on here . . . and ended up using a pair of tweezers to gently scrape the fish. The parasite is now gone, but I noticed my other clown had a 1.5" white stringy poop stuck to it. I just ordered some Prazipro to treat my new goby in quarantine, now I am wondering whether I should just hit the display tank with it, too.

My tank is really new (since I upgraded), so I have no corals in it at all. Also, I have no liverock in it - only biologically seeded dry rock was used. Other than my two clowns, I only have a CUC consiting of snails and hermit crabs. I know most people say Prazipro is safe, but are there any recommendations on how to proceed. Does Prazipro biodegrade over time, so in the future I could add some featherdusters, etc?

One more thing . . . I can easily get the clowns out and treat them in the quarantine tank; but then would I have to worry about the display tank having these problems in the future?

PP is the only med I'd ever use in a reef. It will kill featherdusters (according to the bottle). It can't stay stable too long because re-dosing is really needed. The bottle has Hikari's phone #----they have good tech support and can help with your other concerns----they're very helpful.

One other question regarding internal worms/parasites - is this like ich and requires a fallow period or can you treat the fish individually in a QT and return them to the tank after a couple of treatments without worrying about the fallow period? I have seen the scientific evidence to back up the fallow period for ich, but have never seen anything to back up a fallow period for worms/internal parasites.

Just my best guess, some experience, and some common sense: There are so many species of flukes and other common parasitic worms that I doubt there is a known "fallow' period. However, I've never seen flukes return after 3 treatments of PP---maybe 5 days apart. IMO & IME, its probably impossible to overdose PP and treatment should be done again in the DT regardless of QT treatment. Once the DT has been treated; if you use PP (2 treatments) on all new fish in the QT, there would be no reason to repeat PP in the DT.

I'm doing a prazi treatment on my display right now and was wondering if you could elaborate on your meaning in your above post. Do you do the treatment for 5 days, three times in a row with no break in between or do you do the 5-7 day treatment as recommended on the bottle with 5 day breaks in between?

As the bottle suggests, and I run carbon after 7 days, it may (or may not) get any by-products of the PP breaking down. I always use carbon after meds, just habit and I have no idea what becomes of many meds as they have done their job .

Thanks for the elaboration. I was going to turn my protein skimmer back on after 5 days and give it a two-day rest before treating again. Looking at what info I've been able to find, the skimmer is supposed to completely get rid of whatever's left after ~12 hours of running.
