Using Profilux 3 to Control my Tunze Nano Wavebox

I am just wondering if anyone else is using a wavebox with ghl profilux? I cannot seem to achieve the same wave results as I can with the included tune wavebox controller......can anyone help?

Most of these aftermarket controllers will only time to seconds or tenths of a second and you really need the precision of hundredths of a second to get a good wave.

Yea I have been playing with it now for a few hours.......still cannot get a wave anywhere close to what the tunze controller can make it. I liked how easy the tunze controller made it as well with the auto function to find your best wave. Kind of difficult with profilux to even know where to start......I get best results when my on time is about 1.4 and my off time is 1.5.....really hard to tell difference between that and even 1.5 and 1.5..... But like I said nothing like the tunze controller can produce. So, I have just left it on the tunze controller for now which is kind of a bummer. I really wanted to have it on profilux but I am not sacrificing for half size or less waves.....maybe in the future tunze can help to make an auto wave set function for the profilux .....or maybe it is not possible. Thank you again roger for you input on my thread, I really appreciate it. It is nice to know that I am not the only one having problems getting as good of wave on the profilux......I would love to hear of anyone having good success with their wavebox and controller......anyone???

To get an optimum wave you need to be able to set 1.43 for example, 1.4 is not close enough, that is the problem. Our controller is .30-2.00 and this .00 precision is what makes the difference.

I have been informed by Michael at aqua digital that the profilux is capable of rendering the on and off duration to the hundredth of a second.....I have not tried yet.....like I said tho I seemed to get about half the wave with both on and off set to 1.5 using profilux.....I guess I will try using hundredths next.....any suggestions?? Too bad the tunze controller doesn't say what the on and off is...... Does the tunze controller only allow the same on and off time?? The profilux will allow different for each.....this will at least give me an idea of whether or not I have to play around with different times for each or if I can keep them the same..... Thanks for your help roger!

The off and on time should be equal, if you can set to .00 seconds you should be able to get the same wave. The 7096 shows the timing on the programming screen but 7092 is a very basic controller and does not.

Roger,

Thank you again for your reply. I am going to try playing around with it this weekend..... I can understand how the controller that is included with the wave box is much more basic....however, it does work very well and does even include the ability to hook up another pump or wavebox.....I just would rather have connected to my profilux in order to have remote monitoring and control. I will let you know how I make out.....thanks!

I have tried going from 1.0s to 2.0s in 0.01s increments, but only get half waves at around 1.5s.....I am going to try 1.0 and lower tomorrow in the same manner at 0.01s increments. Roger, do you know of anyone using the profilux to control their wavebox wih good success?? Also, what is a common on and off time for waves.....would it be below 1.0s??

I don't know of anyone else using a profilux for this purpose. The off and on time should be equal and a 4ft tank will generally be around .40-.55 seconds and a 6ft will be around .60-.75 seconds.
